St. Louis Cardinals star Albert Pujols has been given a cortisone shot and will miss Tuesday night’s game against the Chicago Cubs, reports Rick Hummel of the Post-Dispatch.
Pujols has struggled through injury problems for what seems like his entire career; his left elbow is his newest source of chronic pain, tweaked during a play last month. Utility infielder Felipe Lopez is in the lineup at first base tonight; Pujols is day-to-day. Hopefully he won’t realize that every other part of his body aches in the course of sitting this one out.
