Chris Carpenter Leaves St. Louis Cardinals Game With Injury

St. Louis Cardinals ace Chris Carpenter left the team's Wednesday night game against the Chicago Cubs with an injury. Carpenter had allowed four runs in the fourth before Cardinals trainer Barry Weinberg, pitching coach Dave Duncan, and manager Tony La Russa met him at the mound.

Carpenter left the game and was replaced by Jason Motte. The Cardinals' official Twitter reports preliminarily that Carpenter left the game with a right hamstring cramp.
