The New Orleans Saints will enter the Edward Jones Dome on Sunday having scored more points in last week's 62-7 victory over the Indianapolis Colts than the St. Louis Rams have scored in the entire season. To make matters worse, the Rams will once again be without starting quarterback and reigning NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Sam Bradford, who will miss his second game of the season with a high ankle sprain. Starting in his place will be journeyman A.J. Feeley, whose 2011 passer rating of 61.0 doesn't inspire much confidence, even with the addition of wide receiver Brandon Lloyd and a healthy Steven Jackson.
Weirder things have happened in the NFL, though if the Rams pull off an upset today, it will easily be the most surprising victory of the 2011 season. Maybe the good news for the Rams is that after today's game, their schedule, which has been brutal so far this season, softens up, with two games against the Arizona Cardinals sandwiching dates with the Seattle Seahawks and Cleveland Browns. Victories are potentially on the horizon, but Rams fans will likely have to wait just a bit longer.
