Fantasy Football Sit/Start Week 9: Receivers Doucet, Gibson Could Be In For Big Days

St. Louis may or may not have Sam Bradford at quarterback on Sunday for their matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, but the good news for the Rams is that their passing attack could make waves regardless. It was A.J. Feeley who guided St. Louis to its first win of the season against the Saints last week, and if he goes again against the Cardinals, Feeley will be looking at one of the league’s worst pass defenses.

The Cardinals allow over 277 yards per game through the air, the third worst mark in the NFL. Only Green Bay and New England — who generally have teams playing from behind — are worse. So what does this mean for fantasy owners? We’re thinking Brandon Gibson could be worth a start.

The 24-year old receiver only has one touchdown this year, but he’s been consistently targeted. With the status of St. Louis’ leading WR, Danario Alexander, uncertain thanks to a hamstring injury, Gibson could see extended action.

Early Doucet is another name we like in Week 9. The LSU product has scored touchdowns in consecutive games, and appears to be turning into a nice second option for Kevin Kolb behind Larry Fitzgerald.
