FCS Playoffs 2011, First Round Preview: A Real Football Playoff Starts Saturday

Welcome to a parallel collegiate universe, where a six-week tournament decides the national champion instead of an opaque and frustrating BCS formula.

In the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) a six-week tournament decides the national champion. College football playoffs, what a novel idea. The first round of the FCS playoffs beings on Saturday, Nov. 26. and here is a look at the schedule for the opening round:

James Madison (7-4) at Eastern Kentucky (7-4), 11:00 a.m. CST, ESPNU: Winner plays No. 2 North Dakota State

Norfolk State (9-2) at Old Dominion (9-2), 12:30 p.m. CST, ESPN3: Winner advances to face No. 3 Georgia Southern

Albany (8-3) at Stony Brook (8-3), 1:00 p.m. CST, ESPN3: Winner will face No. 1 Sam Houston State

Central Arkansas (8-3) at Tennessee Tech (7-3), 2:00 p.m. CST, ESPN3: Winner visit No. 4 Montana
