The Saint Louis Billikens stayed perfect Sunday night with an easy win over the Oklahoma Sooners in the championship game of the 76 Classic. Brian Conklin tied a career-high with 25 points on 9-11 shooting, while Cody Ellis added 16 points.
The Billikens shot a blistering 60.4% from the field, including a 9-of-17 effort from beyond the three-point line. Oklahoma was limited to 41.7% shooting and did not have much success inside or out.
Saint Louis took a 39-30 lead into the half and built on it in the second half with more hot shooting. The Billikens were also very efficient at the free throw line, hitting 16 of 20 attempts. It was all too much for Oklahoma to overcome, as the Sooners could not create enough of an edge on the glass or in the turnover department to compensate for the disparity in shooting percentage.
