It was a big day in college hoops, as programs across the country were able to officially announce incoming recruits. The St. Louis Billikens welcomed 6'6 forward Jared Drew. The Indianapolis native and current star for Cathedral High School signed a National Letter of Intent to play hoops for head coach Rick Majerus. Majerus believes Drew can be a difference maker:
"Jared is a player who our fans will consider similar to sophomore forward Dwayne Evans in athletic ability," Majerus said. "He is longer but will play with the same passion. Jared can be a defensive stopper extraordinaire, a well-versed rebounder and someone who can knock down a three. He has a 6-foot-10 wingspan and plays for a successful program coached by Andy Fagan at Cathedral High School in Indianapolis.
Drew was St. Louis' only signing. Both ESPN and Scout rank Drew as a two star prospect.
Nationally, Arizona was widely considered to land the best class in the country, headlined by Brandon Ashley and 7-footer Kaleb Tarczewski.
