Report: Mike Anderson, Arkansas Near Agreement After All

Mike Anderson, who's been mum on reports he's taking the Arkansas Razorbacks' head coaching job since the Missouri Tigers were knocked out of the NCAA Tournament, will leave Mizzou after all according to reports from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and other media outlets. Anderson, who's coached Missouri basketball since 2006, was offered a $2.2 million, seven year contract by Arkansas earlier today, according to sources in Arkansas. This comes just days after Mizzou allegedly offered a $2 million, seven year amendment to his current contract.

Anderson took over after the Quin Snyder era at Mizzou Arena came to a messy and and took the Tigers to the Elite Eight in his third season with the team. Since then the Tigers have finished 23-11 in 2010 and 2011, with losses in the Round of 32 and, just last week, in March Madness's newly dubbed "second round."

Anderson was an assistant coach under Nolan Richardson for 17 seasons, from 1985 to 2002, before taking the head coaching job at UAB prior to the 2002-2003 season. He was acting head coach for the Razorbacks in 2002, when Richardson was fired midseason.
