College Baseball: Oklahoma Upset By Oral Roberts In Regional, Eliminated From NCAA Tournament

The second-seed Oklahoma Sooners, a Big 12 star and one of the most popular preseason picks for college baseball success, has been eliminated from the NCAA baseball tournament following a 7-0 loss to Oral Roberts and a 3-2 defeat to Dallas Baptist

The loss to Dallas Baptist, an extra-innings stunner for the second-seed Sooners and their second loss of the season against the Patriots, was only prelude for their ugly loss to Tulsa's Oral Roberts, who shut them out for the Sooners' first winless postseason experience since 2002. 10-3 starter Burch Smith couldn't last past the first inning, and the Sooners' defense committed six errors behind their pitchers.

With their long-term hitting slump still in effect, seven runs turned out to be far too many for Oklahoma, the number two seed in the Fort Worth regional and a decorated veteran of the 2010 College World Series.
