It’s fitting that the Blues are in Montreal tonight to play the Canadiens, as Ron Caron is one of many common people these franchises share. Caron, who was the general manager of St. Louis during the years before Mike Keenan (or He Who Shall Not Be Named) became the general manager and most hated man in St. Louis hockey history. Caron passed away Monday night at the age of 82.
↵Caron brought Brett Hull to St. Louis from the Calgary Flames. As Caron explained to Kevin Allen of USA Today when he asked why Hull, “You can’t win the lottery, unless you buy a ticket.”
↵Thank you, Mr. Caron, for putting together the best hockey team a little kid could have fallen in love with.
