The No. 9 Missouri Tigers are traveling to Ames, Iowa, to take on the Iowa State Cyclones on Wednesday night. It's a key game for the Tigers, who recently lost their first game of the season and don't want to begin to dig themselves into a hole in the Big 12 conference standings.
After shooting up the national rankings by starting the season with a 14-0 record, Missouri got knocked off on the road by then-No. 22 Kansas State on Jan. 7. The defeat didn't push Missouri out of the top-10 in this week's rankings, but they likely can't afford to have another loss so soon in the highly competitive Big 12.
In Iowa State, the Tigers will be facing one of three teams that hasn't lost to a Big 12 opponent this year. The other two, Baylor and Kansas, are ranked among the top-10 teams in the nation. So these Cyclones, which are currently riding a seven-game winning streak, are a pretty solid team. Expect Iowa State to be aiming for a big upset at home on Wednesday.
