NFL Power Rankings: Rams near the bottom of Week 9 pack

The St. Louis Rams fell to No. 28 following an embarrassing showing in London against the Patriots.

The good news for St. Louis Rams fans: Week 8's ugly blowout loss to the New England Patriots overseas only resulted in a one-spot drop in the latest SB Nation Power Rankings. So you have that going for you, which is nice.

The Rams come in at No. 28 in the latest rankings. Ryan Van Bibber writes about the disappointing 45-7 loss:

"28. St. Louis Rams (LW: 27, 3-5): A soft Patriots pass defense was supposed to be a coming out party for Sam Bradford and the Rams offense. They scored seven points on a first quarter touchdown and took the rest of the day off, along with a thoroughly confused defense."

SB Nation likes the Rams considerably less than CBS Sports' Pete Prisco, who put the Rams at No. 21 this week:

"Tom Brady does what he did to them to a lot of young teams. They have come back to reality in the past couple of weeks against Aaron Rodgers and Brady."

NFL.com puts the Rams at No. 25 this week. Week 9 provides the 3-5 Rams with a much-needed bye.
