The St. Louis Cardinals face the Atlanta Braves in a one-game wild card playoff on Friday evening, and the MLB has announced the umpiring crew for the big game.
Crew chief Jeff Kellogg will be behind home plate, a veteran of seven division series, four league championship series and four World Series. Mike Winters will be at first base, previously appearing in six division series, four league championship series and three World Series.
Gary Cederstrom will be manning second base, a veteran of two world series, while Jeff Nelson is at third base. Sam Holbrook and Rob Drake are manning the outfield, with Drake the only member of the crew to not have worked a world series before.
The Cardinals (88-74) finished the season by winning two of three against the Cincinnati Reds to secure to the final N.L. wild card spot over the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Braves (94-68) lost two of their last three games and failed to catch the Washington Nationals in the N.L. East. The Braves were 5-1 in the season series against the Cardinals.
First pitch is set for 4:07 p.m. CT.
