Danny Amendola injury: "Doubtful" Amendola leaves St. Louis Rams without top option once more

The St. Louis Rams will likely be without Danny Amendola again on Sunday, after a foot injury he suffered in last week's loss.

One Danny Amendola injury down, another to go: Two games after returning from a collarbone injury that cost him a month of playing time, the St. Louis Rams' top wide receiver is listed as doubtful on their injury report as they get ready for a rematch with the Arizona Cardinals. This latest bout with the bench comes as the result of a foot injury he suffered during the Rams' loss to the New York Jets.

Amendola came up big in his return to the lineup; he caught 11 balls for 102 yards during the Rams' tie against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 10. But he, along with everybody else on the Rams' offense, was limited against the Jets, catching seven passes for just 41 yards.

Brandon Gibson--who caught two touchdown passes last week, on short red-zone jaunts--and Chris Givens are likely to get the majority of Amendola's touches if he does miss the game, but it'll be worth keeping an eye on rookie Brian Quick, who's slowly worked his way into the rotation after a very rough start to his career. In the longer term, the question continues to be whether the Rams can trust Danny Amendola as a first option given the injury problems he's faced over the last two seasons.
