The Drake Bulldogs lead 35-25 going into halftime against the Bradley Braves on Thursday night. Drake (9-9 vs. MVC opponents) had a significantly more successful regular season than Bradley (2-16), so it's not surprising to see an early advantage. The winner will play Creighton, the tournament's No. 2 seed, in the next round.
The lead was quickly in place for Drake as it busted out to a 12-0 lead, quickly asserting itself. Bradley responded with five straight points to cut the lead to seven, but Drake eventually led by as many as 18 points in the first half. After taking a 33-15 lead late in the half, Bradley went on a 10-2 run to finish things off and keep the game relatively close.
Drake's Rayvonte Rice leads all scorers with 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting, the only player to hit double-digits in scoring. The Bulldogs also got six points from Jeremy Jeffers. Dyricus Simms-Edwards leads Bradley with seven points and two steals thus far.
