The St. Bonaventure Bonnies are leading 37-24 over the Xavier Musketeers going into halftime at the Atlantic 10 Title Game following a strong first half performance. The Bonnies led for the vast majority of the half, even holding a double-digit lead most of the time.
After three minutes in the first half, Xavier held a 2-0 lead, but the Bonnies would go on a 19-5 run over the next six minutes to build a sizable lead. From there, St. Bonaventure extended its lead to as many as 16 points before going until the half up 13. Xavier really struggled with its shooting in the first half, making just 9-of-25 shots from the field while missing all six of its three-point attempts.
Andrew Nicholson leads the Bonnies with 12 points and five rebounds, as well as two blocked shots. Tu Holloway leads Xavier with 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the field. The winner of the game receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, which has its bracket announced on Sunday night.
