Michigan State Vs. Saint Louis Score Update: Billikens Lose A Timeout On A Non-Flagrant Foul (Animated)

Rick Majerus and the Saint Louis Billikens, trailing in a second half that looked ready to get away from them, took a chance to swing the momentum back in their favor when they suggested Draymond Green committed a flagrant 1 on Cody Ellis. The animated GIF suggests it was a possibility—

But additional angles showed that Green's move wasn't sufficiently flagrant—his elbow wasn't fully extended, he wasn't wearing a leather jacket, he had at no point flashed a switchblade—and in a game as physical and stultifyingly slowed-down as this one, this just didn't really stand out.

The Billikens are playing exactly the game Majerus and company hoped to play; they've reduced the pace to nothing, pulled Green and company into the muck with them, and kept things close all the way around—but they still trail the MIchigan State Spartans by three points late in the second half.

It's anybody's guess what will happen here, but you can be sure that Cody Ellis and the Billikens wish Draymond Green had given him a bloody nose on this play.
