Bracketology 2012: St. Louis Billikens Projected As No. 8 Seed For March Madness By SB Nation

The St. Louis Billikens are hard at work in the A-10 Tournament, but March Madness projections are always looming in the background.

The 2012 NCAA Tournament is quickly approaching, and automatic bids and funneling into the bracket through hectic conference tournament action, and Chris Dobbertean is projecting the St. Louis Billikens to grab a No. 8 seed in the East Region in the latest SB Nation 2012 Bracketology update. That would mean a first round matchup with the projected No. 9 seed Alabama Crimson Tide, and a potential second round matchup with the No.1 Syracuse Orange.

A lot can still happen before selection Sunday and March Madness action, but the Billikens (24-6, 12-4 A 10) are almost a certainty to make the dance. They can still claim the automatic bid in the Altantic-10 if they knock off the La Salle Explorers in the 2012 A-10 Tournament quarterfinals on Friday night in Atlantic City and then make a push to the finals on Sunday in what could be a No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup against the Temple Owls.
