While many of the golfers in contention for the 2012 Players Championship experienced numerous highs-and-lows throughout the tournament, Matt Kuchar played consistently excellent golf over four days. With four consecutive rounds under par, Kuchar finished at -13 to win the tournament by two strokes.
Zach Johnson, Martin Laird, Ben Curtis and Rickie Fowler each finished two strokes behind Kuchar at -11. Curtis and Johnson both played excellent golf on Sunday, shooting -4 to move up the leaderboard. Kevin Na, who entered the final round with a one stroke lead, struggled on Sunday and finished the tournament in a tie for 7th at -8.
This is the fourth victory of Kuchar's career, with the most recent coming at The Barclays in 2010. Kuchar was in contention at The Masters this year and ultimately finished in third place.
