Rory McIlroy didn't just capture the 2012 PGA Championship title: he dominated the entire field. McIlroy finished the tournament with a score of 13-under, eight shots ahead of the runner up, David Lynn, who finished with a score of 5-under.
McIlroy saved his best for last, as he shot a 6-under 66 on Sunday to secure the major championship. McIlroy shot 67, 76, 67 over the first three rounds, respectively.
Noted golf superstar Tiger Woods finished tied for eleventh place. Woods shot even par (72) on Sunday to finish 2-under for the entire tournament. Five Americans either tied Woods or finished better than Woods. Keegan Bradley was the top American in the tournament, finishing tied for third (-4). Blake Adams and Steve Stricker finished tied for seventh at 3-under, while Ben Curtis and Bubba Watson tied Woods at 2-under.
Left-handed golf superstar Phil Mickelson did not play well, finishing tied for 36th with a score of 3-over.
Defending British Open champion Ernie Els finished tied for 48th at 5-over.
