St. Louis Rams rookie wide receiver Brian Quick left Saturday night's preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs with a back injury, but is expected to practice this week, according to Rams' head coach Jeff Fisher (via Nick Wagoner).
Quick, an Appalachian State product who was taken with the first pick of the second round in the 2012 NFL Draft, caught three passes for 20 yards before exiting in the fourth quarter of the Rams' 31-17 victory over the Chiefs. Although he has mostly been practicing and playing with the Rams' second-team offense, he has received glowing reviews from camp and appears to be a part of St. Louis's future plans.
The Rams, who have had a relatively injury-free camp to this point, will resume preseason play on Saturday, Aug. 25 on the road vs. the Dallas Cowboys.
