2012 Barclays Preview: Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy Paired On Thursday

The 2012 Barclays gets underway Thursday at Bethpage Black, in Farmingdale, New York.

Much of the focus will likely fall once again on Tiger Woods, who will be playing alongside Zach Johnson and No. 1 golfer in the world Rory McIlroy on Thursday. McIlroy returned to No. 1 in the World Golf Ranking following his PGA Championship victory, winning the major tournament by a staggering eight strokes.

Phil Mickelson will also be participating in the event, looking to atone for a few shoddy showings at major tournaments in 2012. "Lefty" will be paired with Scott Piercy and Luke Donald on Thursday.

Jeff Maggert, who was born in Columbia, Missouri, will participate in the event, and will spend his Thursday playing alongside Davis Love III and Graham DeLaet.
