Rams Vs. Redskins: Sam Bradford, Danny Amendola Confirm Bromance

Look: I hate the word bromance, but I'm not sure what else to call the thing Sam Bradford and Danny Amendola have, aside from poison for every wide receiver not named Danny Amendola. Bradford completed six passes in eight attempts in the St. Louis Rams' first two drives vs. the Washington Redskins Sunday afternoon. He picked up 52 yards. All six receptions went to Danny Amendola. Steven Jackson, who rushed the ball twice for 15 yards, was the only other Rams skill player on the board.

The end result: A 39-yard field goal from Greg Zuerlein, after another fact of life, the Rams' inability to protect their young quarterback, led to a nasty third-down sack and a fumble recovered by injured OT Rodger Saffold. That, of course, is the problem with their extreme closeness--Danny Amendola is a steady receiver, but he's also one of the least likely wide receivers on earth to get the ball over that televised yellow line for a first down.

Back in 2010, Danny Amendola caught 85 of Sam Bradford's 354 completions. It's clear his missing almost all of 2011 did nothing to interrupt their friendship; so far in 2012, Amendola has caught 11 of 23 completed passes. I just hope somebody warned Brian Quick and Chris Givens about this before the Rams drafted them.
