Adam Carriker Injury: Washington Redskins Lose Former Rams Pick For Season

The Washington Redskins' 31-28 loss to the St. Louis Rams in Week 2 was extremely costly, as the 'Skins lost young defensive stalwarts Brian Orakpo and former top Rams pick Adam Carriker to season-ending injuries.

Carriker's injury at the hands of St. Louis is especially noteworthy, considering the Rams invested a high draft pick on the huge defensive end from Nebraska in 2007. St. Louis selected the 6'6, 300-plus-pound Carriker with the No. 13 overall pick that year, but his Rams' career was a disappointment. He recorded just 2.0 sacks in his rookie season and zero in 2008. The Rams traded him to the Redskins in 2010 for two late draft picks.

Carriker had his best statistical season in 2011, his fourth in the NFL, recording 5.5 sacks. His 2012 season ends prematurely with just one tackle to his credit.
