Andy McDonald Feels Healed Up; Will Start (Eventual) Season Not Wrapped In Bubble Tape

There are some things you can set your clocks by as Blues fans: the near-annual Brett Hull night, the fact that someone'll gripe about how stupid the power play dance is, and Andy McDonald getting a concussion in some extremely unfortunate way. Whether it's falling down onto the knee of an Edmonton Oiler or getting high checked, McDonald tends to have his seasons hampered by injury, and for a player that good it's a problem for the Blues.

The 2012-2013 season will start sooner or later (probably later), so for McDonald to say he's feeling good now doesn't necessarily mean that between now and November he won't hit his head on something. But hey, it's a step in the right direction and good news for the Blues.

"Physically, I feel 25 again and I'm really looking forward to this year," McDonald said. "I'm really looking forward to it. I feel better this year than I did last year. I think you play so many years with injuries and things going on, you don't realize what good health is. I feel great. I had a really good offseason. I'm healthy."

Outstanding. Wrap that guy in bubble wrap and let's go. He only played 25 games last season, but with 22 points in those games, imagine him playing a full 82. Wait, it's Andy McDonald. Start small. Imagine him playing a full 70.
