Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reports on Twitter that the St. Louis Rams have signed first round draft pick Sam Bradford, quarterback from the University of Oklahoma, to a six-year contract.

Breaking news: Rams agree w bradford on 6 year deal worth 86 million including 50 million guaranteed!

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports similar numbers on Twitter and notes that the "contract is valued at $78 million but can reach $86 million" with potential incentives.

The news comes on the heels of Bradford missing the team’s first day of training camp yesterday.

Sam Bradford, the first overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft, missed the first day of rookie workouts Thursday.

Fortunately, it seems nobody is worried.

“It’s not the end of the world,” veteran quarterback A.J. Feeley said. “You’d like to have him out here to work these guys, but he’s been through the whole offseason program. Sam’s a smart guy, he’s bright. I don’t see him lagging, I don’t see him sitting at home on the couch not doing anything.”

Head coach Steve Spagnuolo echoed his current starting quarterback’s sentiment.

“Like every other head coach you want your players here, but I understand the process,” Spagnuolo said. “Can I take that line and put it on a tape recorder?”

The team’s first full-squad workout is scheduled for Saturday.

Turf Show Times is reporting some comments that St. Louis Rams COO Kevin Demoff made on local talk radio about the ongoing Sam Bradford contract negotiations.

“Hey, man, take it easy.” That’s not exactly what St. Louis Rams COO and contract guru Kevin Demoff said yesterday, but it’s close. Asked about contract talks with QB Sam Bradford on local radio yesterday, Demoff said, “I don’t think there’s any reason to be nervous. These deals are complex. They take twists and turns up until the end, but it’s a deadline league.”

Speculation has been rampant that Bradford could receive up to $50 million in guaranteed money — much more than the $41.7 million that last year’s No. 1 overall pick, quarterback Matthew Stafford, was given by the Detroit Lions. According to the Post-Dispatch, agent Tom Condon is representing Bradford and chief operating officer Kevin Demoff is negotiating for the Rams.

No deal is imminent, but to this point Bradford has given no indication that he plans on missing any training camp, which will open July 28. So set your watches to some time between “isn’t expected to come soon” and 12 days from now.

Multiple sources, including ESPN's Adam Schefter, are reporting about an upcoming meeting Friday in St. Louis between quarterback Sam Bradford's people and Rams officials.

It is thought to be their first face-to-face meeting since the Rams selected Bradford with the No. 1 overall pick. The two sides spoke before the draft, but could not complete a deal and tabled talks.

Whenever Bradford signs -- and nobody expects him to miss much, if any, training camp -- the deal will include the most guaranteed money in an NFL contract.

Right now it seems like we're following a formality—that the question is just when before training camp he signs the deal everyone expects him to sign.
