NHL Power Rankings: I Hope They Didn't See That Last Blues Game Edition

This is going to be a really good week to look at the NHL Power Rankings, as a St. Louis Blues fan. So good that I would recommend taking next week's list off. On ESPN they've earned a second consecutive week at the top spot, thanks to their lock-tight defense and Jaroslav Halak's historically great season, which you'll remember from a few days ago. (Through his first 10 starts Jaroslav Halak had allowed just 15 goals. Remember the good times.)

Ah, NHL Power Rankings. Mixing memory and desire. At Fox Sports, too, the Blues took number one—did you know that last week the Blues allowed one goal in regulation on 86 shots. That's not many goals at all! In a lot of shots! The Hated Detroit Red Wings are all the way back at number five, and the Columbus Blue Jackets? Number eight. Piffle!

CBS Sports pushed the Blues to the top spot after holding them all the way back at number six the week before. The rare Power Rankings trifecta. It's a good thing to see.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure the Blues will make it to four-for-four—the SB Nation Power Rankings don't come out until tomorrow...
