NHL Scores: St. Louis Blues Fall Again To Phoenix Coyotes

The St. Louis Blues continued to fall off from their hot start Saturday night, losing in regulation to the Phoenix Coyotes 5-3. Goalie Ty Conklin was beaten four times in 26 shots—the Blues continue to keep teams from taking shots, but the results weren't what they've been, and Conklin and the shorthanded defense were unable to keep the team from losing its third straight.

The network postgamer has a nicely concise quote from Andy McDonald, who was in on all three Blues goals—"We're a team that thrives on team defense. We can't allow a team to have as many quality chances as they did tonight."

The Detroit Redwings were active as well, taking out the Colorado Avalance 3-1. The Blues are now down 23 points to 21 in the Central, as the Red Wings improve to 11-3-1. I'll say this for them: they've allowed for maximum intrigue when they travel to Detroit for Wednesday's 6:30 match-up of division contenders.
