St. Louis Blues Vs. Colorado Avalanche Score Update: St. Louis Trails 2-0 After The First Period

The St. Louis Blues entered their Wednesday night contest with the Colorado Avalanche as winners of five of their last six, but the Blues will have some work to do if they want to earn another W. The Blues trail Colorado 2-0 at the Pepsi Center after the first period.

Paul Stastny put the Colorado Avalanche on the board just four minutes into the game with his 11 th goal of the season. The assists went to Matt Hunwick and Stefan Elliot. Cody McLeod would push Colorado's lead to 2-0 minutes later. Kevin Porter and Jan Hejda assisted on the score.

St. Louis out-shot the Avs 14-10 in the period. The hits were even at 7, and Colorado held a slight edge in faceoff wins, 10-9.

Three Avs players were charged with two minute minors in the period. The Blues had zero penalties.
