St. Louis Blues Vs. Colorado Avalanche Final Score: Blues Fall In Denver 3-2

Something had to give in Denver on Wednesday, with the St. Louis Blues riding a seven-game road point streak and the Colorado Avalanche winning outright in seven consecutive games at the Pepsi Center. The surging Blues peppered the Avalanche with shots on goal, but Colorado goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere dazzled in net to key a 3-2 win for the Avs. With the loss, St. Louis falls to 19-10-4 with 42 points, while the Avalanche are now 17-17-1 with 35 points.

The Blues out-shot Colorado 39-22, but Giguere was up for the challenge. Several of his 37 saves were spectacular. The Blues entered the third trailing 3-2, and despite out-shooting Colorado 11-1 in the final period, they could not find a way to get the puck past Giguere.

The Avalanche scored two goals in the first 5:13 of the game, and just one after. Paul Stastny (11th of the season), Cody McLeod (2) and Jay McClement (6) scored goals for Colorado in the win. David Backes (11) and Chris Stewart (5) each scored in the second period for the Blues to briefly knot the game at 2-2.
