2012 NHL All-Star Draft: Rules, TV Schedule And More

All-Star festivities begin with the All-Star draft on Thursday night.

All-Star captains Zdeno Chara and Daniel Alfredsson will choose the teams that will face off in the 2012 All-Star Game on Thursday night from a pool of 38 All-Stars. They will alternate selections until all the players have been assigned to a team and then the game will be set.

The festivities begin on the NBC Sports Network at 7:30 p.m. ET with a pre-game show, with the draft starting at 8:00 p.m. ET.

St. Louis Blues goalie Brian Elliott will be selected relatively early in the proceedings, as both teams are required to have three goaltenders and to draft all three goalies by the end of the 10th round.

The All-Star skills competition will take place on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 7:00 p.m. ET, and the puck drops in the All-Star Game on Sunday, Jan. 29 and 4:00 p.m. ET.
