The oft talked about, highly awaited NHLPA 2012 players poll results were released a couple of days ago, . While usually a great window in who players anonymously think are over-rated teams and players a la the burn book from Mean Girls, it's also a great look at who the players don't think gets nearly enough credit for being good.
Who is this credit coming from? Maybe some fans, maybe other players, maybe broadcasters and pundits. Whoever it is, according to the NHLPA, they need to beef up the love for the St. Louis Blues and their captain David Backes. The Blues rank a solid number one on the list with 26% of the vote (division rivals the Nashville Predators are number two with 21%). David Backes ranked sixth among the most under-rated player with 3% of the vote.
↵Now that the secret's out, are the Blues really underrated anymore? You know, like how everyone goes on about how underrated Pavel Datsyuk is to the point where it's a gimmie that he's not underrated at all? It'd be good if the Blues could maybe work this whole "being underrated" thing into a sneak attack on the road. Start off meh and then BOOM -- actually win a road game.
