Blues Vs. Kings Score Update: L.A., St. Louis In Scoreless Tie After One Period

The St. Louis Blues and Los Angeles Kings are locked up in a defensive battle that hasn't seen either team score a goal yet through the first period of Thursday night's game. The Kings have struggled to even get shots on goal as the Blues, arguably the best defensive team in the NHL, have flexed their muscles on the defensive end of the ice.

While neither team was able to get on the scoreboard in the first period, the Blues are actually carrying a 13-3 advantage on shots on goal thus far. St. Louis goaltender Brian Elliott hasn't had too much trouble yet tonight in his first appearance in a few days, saving the three shots that have came his way.

Both teams had one power play opportunity apiece in the first period, but neither could capitalize on the man advantage.
