2012 NHL Playoffs, Sharks Vs. Blues Game 3: Game Time, TV Schedule And More

The St. Louis Blues and San Jose Sharks pick up their first round series with newfound bad blood dominating the headlines.

Presswire

The St. Louis Blues are heading west having had home ice advantage stolen from them by the underdog San Jose Sharks, but that's not the series' biggest storyline as Game 3 approaches with the series tied 1-1. Nor is the biggest storyline that Blues starting goalie Jaroslav Halak will miss Monday night's game after being hit by teammate Barret Jackman in Game 2.

What is at the forefront of everyone's minds is the brawl that ensued in Game 2 after the final horn had sounded. Despite various alleged cheap shots or illegal hits, neither team has had any players suspended, but it wouldn't be a surprise if Game 3 resembled a Golden Gloves tournament as much as a hockey game.

As for who will be in net for the Blues, coach Ken Hitchcock is going with Brian Elliott, who led the NHL with a 1.56 goals against average in 2012 and stopped all 17 shots he saw in Game 2 when he replaced the injured Halak.

Game date/time: Monday, April 16, 9:00 p.m. CT

Location: HP Pavilion, San Jose, CA

TV: NBC Sports Network
