The NHL has announced the cancellation of the preseason schedule through Sept. 30, a move that cancels 61 games across the league because of the ongoing labor dispute between the NHL and NHLPA.
From the NHL:
The cancellation of the schedule was necessary because of the absence of a Collective Bargaining Agreement between the NHL Players' Association and the NHL.
While the Kraft Hockeyville game has been postponed, many of the scheduled celebrations in the winning community of Stirling-Rawdon, Ontario, will proceed as planned beginning on Sept. 30.
This move includes the cancellation of five St. Louis Blues preseason games, including back-to-back home games against the Tampa Bay Lightning and Minnesota Wild on Sept. 28 and 29. Currently, three preseason games remain on the schedule, which includes a home-and-home against the Dallas Stars on Oct. 3 and Oct. 6.
