Week 12 NFL Lines And Odds: Rams Vs. Cardinals

The St. Louis Rams (2-8) and the Arizona Cardinals (3-8) will meet in Week 12. What do odds makers think about this matchup between two struggling NFC West teams?

It may not be the most compelling matchup on the NFL slate in Week 12, but the St. Louis Rams (2-8) and the Arizona Cardinals (3-7) will be battling over who belongs in the NFC West cellar. A Rams victory would tie them with the Cardinals at 3-8 in the basement of the division, while a Cardinals victory would banish the Rams to sole possession of the dubious distinction.

The spread for the game opened with the Rams favored by 3 points, but that figure has since fluctuated down to 1.5 points favoring the Rams for some odds makers, while remaining at 3 points in favor of the Rams for others. The over/under for the game opened at 39 points and has remained at that same number. The confusion in the spread stems from the unknown status of Cardinals starting quarterback Kevin Kolb. Sure the Cardinals beat the Rams with backup John Skelton several weeks ago, but that was an overtime contest that came down to a spectacular Patrick Peterson punt return in OT to clinch the game.

There have been some rumors that Kolb might be ready to play on Sunday, but the whole situation bears watching closely.
