The St. Louis Cardinals presumably already have their eye on repeating as World Series champions, and on Tuesday the team announced its schedule for Spring Training 2012. St. Louis will play a 29-game schedule in the Grapefruit League, once again with Roger Dean Stadium of Jupiter, Fla., as the team's home park.
Pitchers and catchers will report to spring training on Feb. 18, while infielders and outfielders will report on Feb. 23. The schedule opens against the Miami Marlins as the Marlins play their first game under that geographical name. It closes when the Cardinals face the Washington Nationals at home on April 1, just days before the beginning of the season.
The teams that St. Louis will be facing at home are the Marlins, Mets, Nationals, Red Sox, Braves, Astros, Twins and Tigers. All games are scheduled as day games, and fans can go buy spring season tickets or six-game plans now. One-game tickets will become available on Jan. 21 and can be purchase on the team's website.
