Albert Pujols Rumors: Cardinals Expect Resolution Today

After over 24 hours of intense negotiations, the St. Louis Cardinals expect a resolution on Wednesday in the Albert Pujols saga one way or the other, sources told Jon Paul Morosi. With solid, competing offers from both the Cardinals and the Miami Marlins (and, supposedly, a mystery third team) on the table, the onus is now on Pujols to make a decision.

Though both the Cardinals and Marlins are focused first and foremost on landing Pujols, Miami is pushing for an answer from the star first basemen so that they can move on to free agents such as C.J. Wilson or Mark Buehrle if Pujols ultimately turns down their offer. After most felt yesterday like the Marlins were the leaders in the clubhouse, it seems as if sentiment has begun to swing the other way since late last night.
