St. Louis Weather Stops Flights, Not Baseball

To everyone in St. Louis dealing with the weather, the after-effects of the tornado, or an extended stay at Lambert International Airport—a hearty stay safe from SB Nation St. Louis, whose headquarters are located a ways across the Mississippi River.

A simple Twitter search shows all the extent of the damage at Lambert, where, thankfully, no serious injuries occurred, but part of the roof was ripped off and glass in the main terminal was shattered, leaving a frightening scene and an uncertain timetable for restarting service at St. Louis's only airport. Elsewhere, houses were destroyed and power lines were downed.

Given the extent of the damage elsewhere it's amazing that the Cardinals managed to get a game in, and that so many people were around to see the end of it after a two hour tornado-and-rain delay. But the Cardinals' win over the Reds is obviously the least of St. Louis's concerns at this moment. Hopefully that particular satisfaction will still be around when people are able to enjoy it.
