Kevin Kolb solid since winning Arizona Cardinals' quarterback controversy

Since taking over for John Skelton in Week 1, Kevin Kolb has been very efficient and is No. 9 in the NFL in quarterback rating.

The preseason quarterback controversy between John Skelton and Kevin Kolb for the Cardinals starting job was about as ugly as quarterback battles get. Each player struggled mightily and the media responded with assumptions that the Cardinals may be the worst team in the NFL in 2012.

Such has not been the case as they're undefeated through four weeks and Kolb has been very strong in three starts since taking over for an injured Skelton in Week 1. While throwing seven interceptions, he has managed to throw just two interceptions and is No. 9 in the NFL with a 97.6 quarterback rating.

The only area he has been susceptible has been to sacks, as Kolb has taken 13 through four games, the third most in the NFL. That bodes well for the 2008 and 2011 first round picks of the Rams, Chris Long and Robert Quinn, who have a combined five sacks so far in 2012.

To pull the upset on Thursday night, the Rams will need to provide some pressure on Kolb and force errors as they have through four games. With eight interceptions, only the Chicago Bears that tallied five Tony Romo interceptions have more in 2012.
