Carlos Beltran Suggests Jon Niese Get A Nose Job, Follows Through On It

In case you were wondering whether new St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Carlos Beltran was a good clubhouse guy, and have a really weird standard for what that might entail, Mets lefty Jon Niese might suddenly offer an especially inscrutable datapoint for you: Beltran was apparently instrumental in getting him to undergo an offseason rhinoplasty. I don't normally tell my friends and coworkers they should get nose jobs, but then I'm also not a borderline Hall of Fame center fielder.

I'm not sure I can give Beltran credit for this particular foresight, but apparently Niese's distinctly aquiline nose was, in hindsight, keeping him from performing cardio workouts to the best of his abilities, so his newly streamlined facial features are not just for aesthetes to enjoy.

In related news: Every member of the St. Louis Cardinals is suddenly going to be slightly less comfortable around Carlos Beltran. Maybe it's a good motivational tool—do well, and he'll be too distracted by your performance on the field to slowly ruin your opinion of your own physical traits off the field.
