A dominant performance from Zack Greinke proved to be enough to prevent the St. Louis Cardinals from pulling off a sweep against their Central Division rivals. Greinke allowed only one earned run in 6 innings to help lead the Brewers to a 3-2 victory in the series-finale.
Apart from a tough sixth inning, Jaime Garcia was actually very impressive on the mound in the loss. Garcia allowed three earned runs, all of which came in the sixth, in 7.0 innings pitched. Garcia struck out six batters, but it wasn't enough to avoid his first loss of the season.
Jonathan Lucroy drove in what proved to be the the game-winning run with two outs in the sixth inning, as his double scored both Aramis Ramirez and Corey Hart. This two-run double gave the Brewers a 3-1 lead, which proved to be enough for Greinke and the bullpen.
