The St. Louis Cardinals will have to defend their World Championship without one of their newly acquired relievers. According to Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Cardinals appear likely to lose RP Scott Linebrink to a recent injury:
Linebrink returned to St Louis for an MRI on sore lat. #Cardinals likely to add Marte to active roster tomorrow and DL Linebrink #STLcards

Linebrink was a late addition to the Cardinals roster after he pitched well in Spring Training. The 35-year-year veteran sports a career 3.51 ERA and has played for six different teams in his 12-year career. The Cardinals will be his seventh.
