Padres Vs. Cardinals Final Score: St. Louis Completes Sweep With 6-3 Victory

The St. Louis Cardinals trailed 3-0 against the San Diego Padres on Wednesday night before ever getting a turn to bat, but the early deficit didn't do much to discourage the reigning World Series champions. The Cards would answer back with three runs of their own in the first inning and eventually secure a 6-3 victory at Busch Stadium.

Carlos Beltran continued his amazing season, blasting a two-run homer (his 14th of the year) in the fifth inning to give St. Louis a 5-3 lead. Third baseman David Freese would make it 6-3 St. Louis with a homer to left field in the seventh inning.

Lynn improves to 7-1 after allowing eight hits and three earned runs in six innings. Jason Motte got the final two outs and earned his eighth save of the year for the Cardinals.

St. Louis improves to 25-19 with the win. San Diego falls to 16-29.
