Cardinals Vs. Phillies Preview: St. Louis Tries To Start A Winning Streak On Thursday

The St. Louis Cardinals open a four-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies on Thursday night.

The St. Louis Cardinals are still adjusting to the loss of slugger Lance Berkman (torn meniscus), but the season continues to roll on and they are gearing up for the start of a four-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies. In the first game on Thursday, Jake Westbrook (4-3, 2.41 ERA) takes the mound against Joe Blanton (4-4, 3.74 ERA) in the first of a seven-game road trip for Philly. St. Louis broke a four-game losing streak by beating the Washington Nationals on Wednesday by a score of 4-1, and now they will look to keep going and close out the month in style.
