The Kansas City Royals pieced together a 3-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday night, but it will be the wild ninth inning that will live on in the lore of this interstate matchup. The Cardinals entered the ninth inning down 3-2 with Jonathan Broxton on the hill. Broxton got Yadier Molina to groundout and then struck out Matt Adams, but with two outs Tyler Greene reached with a single.
Green attempted to steal second, and then... this happened:
Wildest finish to a game ever. Tyler Greene steals 2nd, ball hits him, goes to 3rd, overthrow, goes home... gunned down. #Royals win 3-2.

The Cardinals were unable to score off Kansas City's Vin Mazzaro, who threw six shutout innings while striking out four batters. St. Louis also spoiled another solid start from Kyle Lohse, who kept his ERA under three by giving up only three runs in seven innings.
