Cardinals Vs. Marlins Final Score: St. Louis' Offense Explodes Early In 5-2 Victory

The St. Louis Cardinals ran their winning streak to five games with a 5-2 road win over the Miami Marlins on Tuesday night. The win lifts St. Louis to 40-35, while the struggling Marlins fall to 34-40.

St. Louis scored all five of its runs in the first inning. Carlos Beltran continued his stellar season with an RBI single to center to get the scoring started. Allen Craig would bring home a second run by grounding into a fielder's choice before catcher Yadier Molina's three-run homer made it 5-0 before Miami had a turn to bat.

That was more than enough runs support for starter Kyle Lohse, who allowed four hits and two runs over 7.1 innings to improve to 7-2. Jason Motte nailed down his 16th save of the year to secure the win.
