The St. Louis Cardinals saw their five-game winning streak snapped in the series finale against the Miami Marlins on Wednesday, but they are hoping to get back on track as they open a three-game weekend series against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday. Adam Wainwright (6-7, 4.32 ERA) gets the start for St. Louis, while the Pirates will counter with Kevin Correia (3-6, 4.03 ERA).
Wainwright opened the month of June with a rough start -- seven earned runs allowed over 6.1 innings in a loss to the Mets on June 1 -- but in his past four starts he has given up just eight total earned runs over 26.2 innings.
