Cardinals Vs. Astros Final Score: St. Louis Earns 4-3 Victory

The St. Louis Cardinals knocked off the Houston Astros 4-3 at Minute Maid Park on Wednesday. The win gets St. Louis back over .500, pushing the team's record to 29-28. Houston falls to 24-32 with the loss.

St. Louis led wire-to-wire. The Cards scored three runs before Houston ever got a chance to bat, an inning ignited by a solo home run from the game's second batter, St. Louis second baseman Daniel Descalso. Left fielder Allen Craig and third baseman David Freese would also add RBIs before the first ended.

Following a third inning solo homer from Craig, the Astros ran off three straight runs but couldn't tie the score.

Starter Adam Wainwright earned the win, improving to 5-6 by allowing seven hits and three runs over 5.2 innings. Jason Motte nailed down the save, his 10th of the year.
