The St. Louis Cardinals lost a key cog in their rotation on Thursday afternoon when it was announced that SP Jaime Garcia was headed to the 15-day DL with a shoulder strain in his throwing arm:

The 25-year-old Garcia has 11 starts through the early part of the 2012 MLB season and currently sports a 4.48 ERA despite a strong 2.74 FIP. The Cardinals called on Garcia for 32 starts in 2011, and he complete 194 and 2/3 innings with a 3.56 ERA and 3.23 FIP.
